By ‘diet‘ we mean any temporary, restrictive program of eating with an end goal of losing weight. There are many scientific studies that support the claim that dieting does not aid weight loss in the long term and ultimately leads to weight gain. A healthy eating plan is more likely to lead to a healthy weight. Research has shown that almost 95 % of people who lose weight through a diet regime will regain the weight (and possibly more) in one to five years. So, what to do? Rather than choose a restrictive fad diet lose the diet and look more at a healthy eating plan and portion control.
